OLD SOUTHENDIAN & SOUTHCHURCH 3rd XI (45/45) * v Belhus Cricket Club Saturday 3rd XI on Sat 13 Jul 2019 at 12.30pm
Belhus Cricket Club Won by 144 Runs
Match report
Belhus 3rd XI 326-0 (Michael Cansdale 163* Tom Thompson 145*)
Old Southendian & Southchurch 3rd XI 182-9
Our openers Michael Cansdale and Tom Thompson batted superbly in carrying their bats through the allotted 45 overs in this 10th SNEL match of the season.
Their magnificent partnership of 326 was a new club record for the 1st wicket and Michael's 163 and Tom's 145 were career-best innings for them both. It was the highest team total for a Belhus 3rd XI and also the highest partnership for any wicket in the Club's history. It is also believed to be the first-ever triple century partnership in the 200-year history of cricket in the borough of Thurrock.
In reply, OSS made their way to 182 for 9 with spinner and proud dad Cliff Cansdale taking 4 for 30 as our 3rd XI won by 144 runs on this remarkable, record-breaking day.
