On a hot summer's day, Hutton batted first and sped to 115 for no wicket, Hussain (48) and Scammell (40) batting superbly in the face of poor, wayward bowling. 300 plus looked on the cards but then Cliff Cansdale entered the fray. Bowling his right-arm spin he bowled superbly, halting Hutton with 5 for 50 in 16 overs (becoming the oldest Belhus bowler to take a '5for') a delight to watch. Khalid also bowled very well and at tea, Hutton had reached 240 for 7 which was very much a gettable target.

In reply, 60 for the 1st wicket boded well, but although 44 from Lewis J. and 62 from Lewis C. suggested a positive/successful chase, the Belhus batting fell away. J.Mowll of Hutton took 5 catches...all at long -on ! Belhus were literally caught out ,
