Match report Belhus entertained Harold Wood on Saturday, with a gale howling . . . 40 odd mph at times. . . which made conditions awful. Such was the force of the wind, umpire Mike Randall had to apply "Plumbers Mate" to the stumps to keep the bails on !

Belhus batted first and collapsed to 105 for 8 in the face of good bowling and the decidedly difficult conditions. However a very good partnership of 53 between Richard Waters (24) and Mo (25) and then a last wicket partnership of 20 by Cliff Cansdale and Tricky took Belhus up to a competitive total of 177.

In reply, Harold Wood were tottering at 20 for 3 but Sampson ( 77), who also took 3 stumpings in the Belhus innings, won the game for Harold Wood, even though Cliff Cansdale bowled superbly to take 5 for 40. Very well done Cliff.
