Match report Belhus visited Buckhurst Hill on Saturday expecting a tough game of cricket against strong opponents.

On a very green wicket the home team batted first and apart from a quick 35 from Solomonides, struggled against good bowling from Immy, Zak Wilson (4 for 31) and Richard Waters (3 for 20). It was good to see Zak bowling again. Unfortunately, the home team escaped to 196 due to in great part 56 extras - 37 off them no balls and wides. Woeful.

However, on a bright note, all 10 Buckhurst Hill batsmen were dismissed 'caught' - only the 3rd occasion in the club's history that all 10 batsmen have been so dismissed - the previous instances being on 5th September 1976 (1st XI v Chadwell Heath CC) and on 7th August 1983 (1st XI Downshall CC - a game in which, 36 years ago, John Lewis Jnr and Wayne Read also played).

In reply, apart from 20s and 30s from a number of batsmen, Belhus couldn't reach the 196 winning post, even though Buckhurst Hill only scored 140 off their own bat.

A very frustrating result.
