Batting first, Belhus could only muster a total 168 that could have been much less had it not been for to a stoic 90 by skipper Joe Joyce (the leading run-scorer in the SNEL Premier Division). Gayan Sirisoma bowled well to take 5 for 30.

In their reply, Hornchurch found themselves precariously perched on 109 for 5. And despite a '5for' from spinner Matt Doran (the 3rd highest wicket-taker in the SNEL Premier Division), Belhus were unable to press home the advantage as Merv Westfield (43*) and Jas Bassan (21*) carved a 54-runs 6th wicket partnership to steer their team home to a 5-wickets win
