Buckhurst Hill batted first in this first round of the SNEL League Cup and posted a respectable total of 274 for 9 thanks to a century (126) from Ryan Karunakaran. Martin Guilbert was the pick of the Belhus bowlers with a return of 4 for 36.

In our run-chase, opener Joe Joyce stroked a fine 75 and Dan Dreher also clocked up a half century, but it was skipper Dan Joyce who steered his side home to a comfortable 4-wickets win as he returned to the clubhouse with an undefeated 81.

And we now meet Wickford (away) in the 2nd round on 4th May.
