Bromley Common managed to reach 113 for 9 from their 40 overs in this rain-affected Readers Thames Cricket League match, with Paul Whitlock our lead wicket-taker returning 4 for 36.

In our run-chase after tea, we were perched happily on 37 for 2 but a middle-order collapse saw us lose 5 wickets for 28 runs to fall to 65 for 7. Despite some late blows from Paul Whitlock (33), we couldn't quite get over the finishing line and the match finished in a Tie when Mike Squires was bowled by Richard Stafford-Hill.

This was an exciting, memorable game of cricket played in fine spirit.
