Belhus Cricket Club Lost By 4 Wickets

Match report Belhus missed out on Cup Final glory as they fell short in the showdown with Hadleigh and Thundersley. Belhus won the toss and batted but were soon under pressure as Oliver Plunkett and Teddy Waters were bowled by Kian Vapiwala. Alex Blake hit back with a quick fire 26 from just 22 balls including 5 fours before retiring. But Belhus slipped again as Henry Overy and Kaelan Casey fell cheaply. Rob Healy hit back with 22 and Charlie Ovey (19 n/o) and Billy Kildudd (15 n/o) looked like they had given Belhus a chance as they totalled 116-5 from their 20 overs.

Sadly for Belhus, Hadleigh flew out of the traps, openers Ruben Vapiwala (27 n/o) and Tommy Byrne (28 n/o) crashed 54 from the first four overs. Belhus were under the pump but they did fight hard. Alex Blake and Puneet Bal took wickets as did Teddy Waters and Henry Overy. Their was an excellent catch by Billy Kilduff and Overy held two himself but Hadleigh squeezed home with two overs to spare to take the trophy. Hard luck Belhus.
