Belhus Cricket Club Lost By 27 Runs

Match report Belhus lost their first of a series of friendly matches at Rainham. Losing the toss Belhus fielded first and were rather too generous serving up over 50 runs in extras. Stouchbury (27) and Lehal (25) both retired for the home side who racked up an impressive 135 - 8 from their 20 overs. There were 2 wickets for Sammy Fairweather and one each for Charlotte Waters, Izzy Overy, Dante Denton and Owen Williams. Henry Overy held two catches and there was one each for Charlotte Waters, Aidan Fourie and Sammy Fairweather. Belhus also picked up two run outs thanks to Billy Kilduff's direct hit and good work by Teddy Waters and Owen Williams. Belhus had a stiff chase on their hands.

Belhus quickly slipped to 18-4 but Sammy Fairweather (25 from 45 ballswith one boundary) and Billy Kilduff (25 from 25 balls with four boundaries) steadied the ship before both retiring but the run rate was too stiff for Belhus who totalled 108-5. Smith with 2 for 5 did the main damage for Rainham who deserved their comfortable win.
