Match report On a hot, sunny, blue skied morning at North Stifford, Belhus U13's entertained Benfleet in their penultimate league match. Stand in skipper Rob Healy won the toss and chose to bat. Belhus started strongly as the ball flew across the parched outfield. Openers Lewis Blake (28 with 5 boundaries) and Kaelan Casey (25 with 4 boundaries) both retired undefeated. Healy himself was fortunate to be dropped three times on his way to retiring himself for 27 (4 boundaries) while Oliver Plunkett (24 not out with 2 boundaries) and Charlie Ovey (11 not out with 2 boundaries) saw Belhus through to a hefty 160-1 from their 20 overs. Harrison Thorne was the successful Benfleet bowler taking 1 for 10.

In the field Belhus had to work hard in the heat but Owen Williams made the early in-roads starting with a fine run out and then clean bowling Spencer for 10. Owen taking 1-8 and he later added a catch to complete a fine day in the field. Puneet Bal was the pick of the Belhus attack taking 2 for 4 with his miserly spin. There were wickets too for Callum Constantine (who also added a catch), Charlie Ovey (who also wrapped the innings up with a run out) Oliver Plunkett, Billy Kilduff and Kaelan Casey (who also pouched a catch). Another good days work by the Belhus boys who have now won their six league matches with one game to come at home to Orsett and Thurrock Trojans this Thursday.
