Match report Belhus produced a fine performance against traditional U13 rivals Orsett and Thurrock to seal a fine win at School Lane. Once again Belhus won the toss and elected to bat. Teddy Waters made 10 while both Henry Overy 25 (1 four) and Robert Healy 25 (3 fours) retired - continuing their good form from their U12 exploits on Sunday. Oliver Plunkett (15 with 2 fours) and Kaelan Casey (15 not out with 2 fours) kept the momentum going and Belhus posted a competitive 107 for 3 from their allotted 20 overs.


Belhus knew their opposition contained some powerful hitters and openers Long and Brazier hit a boundary each in the first two overs to show their intent but the game turned dramatically Belhus's way in the third over as Tyler Robertson bowled Long off stump for 4 and then took a diving caught and bowled to remove the dangerous Callum Greene for a golden duck. Robertson (2 for 4) will be on a hat trick going into his next match ! The Belhus joy continued as Kyle Hewson swooped to run out Millard for a duck. Then Callum Constantine got in on the act. He clean bowled opener Alex Brazier for 5 and followed up with the wicket of Cook for a duck ending up with fine figures of 2 for 8. Orsett were reeling at 13 for 5 at the Belhus onslaught. Only Tommy Fleming showed any resistance making 13 with 2 boundaries before he was trapped LBW by Kaelan Casey. Oliver Plunkett clean bowled Gab Seaton for 4 and that left Alex Blake to sweep up the tail, claiming fine figures of 3 wickets for 4 runs to ease Belhus to a suprisingly comfortable win by 56 runs.
