Our 4th XI batted first and Andrew Williams (46) and John Tomlinson (47*) helped to post a modest but competitive total of 187 from the allotted 40 overs.

In their run-chase, Benfleet were firmly in the driving seat as Libin Chandy stroked 51, but although opener Tony Sherlock carried his bat patiently for 75, they came up just short of their target. Cliff Cansdale was our lead wicket-taker with 3 for 27 and was ably supported by 2 wickets apiece from Amit Gohil and John Wilson.

And in winning this exciting match by just 6 runs, skipper Wilson's side continues to enjoy a successful season and they sit comfortably in 2nd place in their SNEL Division.
