In a rain-delayed match, our 3rd XI managed to post a total of 199 for 9 thanks to a fine half-century (50) by Andrew Williams with support from Michael Cansdale (31) and 25 runs apiece from Keith Dhannie and Billy Maidment. Aqib Khan took 4 for 37 for Hornchurch.

In reply, Abul Hasnatt (81) and Nadeem Muhammed (32) starred for Hornchurch, but in a close game, Alan Maidment and Ashir Saleem captured three wickets apiece and Andrew Williams snared 4 catches behind the stumps, enabling skipper Richard Waters' team to gain a 20-runs win.

And in earning a maximum of 25 points, the 3rd XI are sitting quite happily in 3rd position in their SNEL Division - just 14 points behind leaders Southend-on-Sea & EMT and with 2 matches of the season remaining. So it's "all to play for", as they say . . .
