In the first SNEL match of the season, played in miserable, damp conditions with constant drizzle, Belhus batted first and posted a modest total of 175 for 8. Jack Plane was Belhus's top-scorer with 44 not out and was ably supported by Michael Cansdale and Richard Waters with 35 apiece. Stephen Brooks bowled well for Orsett to return 5 for 47.

After tea, Harry Dove stroked a fine half century (59) as Orsett chased down the runs in 31 overs to win by 7 wickets.
