Match report Batting first on a very dry wicket at Gallows Corner, Belhus initially got off too a decent start against some very wayward bowling, but the introduction of Tarr (3 for 45) and Collard (4 for 38) bowling straight and well pitched up, created a Belhus collapse on the two-paced pitch. At 105 for 8, things looked grim but cometh the hour cometh the man. . .and up stepped Mark Sansom and Jamie Fairweather. Showing great judgement, determination and skill, the two put on 43 for the 9th wicket.Sansom (50) played very well, cutting and driving in a controlled, tidy, excellent knock and Fairweather (28 not out) batted with heartening competitive instinct, displaying a very tight defensive technique and a gradual unfurling off his strokes. Deepak continued the recovery with a last wicket stand of 43 with Jamie and Belhus totalled a dizzy 191 which was a tremendous recovery.

In reply, GPR lost early wickets. The catch Adam Dudmish took to dismiss Farrow was exceptional and at 67 for 4 the hosts were struggling against the straight, tight bowling of the Belhus attack. Darrell and Deepak (3 for 23) bowled 26 overs for 67 such was their control . . . Antonio was very unfortunate to go wicketless. A partnership of 50 for the 5th wicket gave GPR a chance, but Imran (6 for 45) returned to bowl an excellent second spell and take Belhus to the brink of victory. However the 10th wicket survived some very close calls and GPR hung out for the draw.

An excellent game of cricket played in a good spirit.
