A hot sun welcomed Belhus to South Woodford and the toss determined they were fielding first. Bowling on a very well-grassed pitch, Belhus made an initial breakthrough and then picked up further wickets to have S. Woodford at 68 for 4 at 25 overs and struggling. However, the drinks break refreshed the S. Woodford batsmen and a partnership of 102 by Asgar (91) and Khagram (46) turned things around. Sloppy bowling and fielding allowed S. Woodford to escape to 245 for 8 in their 50 overs, which was a demanding score on the sporting pitch.

In reply, and after the fall of an early wicket, Belhus responded strongly. Matt Williams (90) and Jake Wolfe (32) built a stand of 60, and then a partnership of 138 for the 4th wicket by Williams and Read (71 not out) won the game for Belhus. Matt Williams struck the ball powerfully and with good judgement . Wayne Read crafted a very good knock, full of drives and cuts - an excellent partnership which broke the S. Woodford attack.

This was a very good win chasing a demanding total and bodes well.
