Match report Belhus returned to the Caribbean idyll that is Barbados for their third tour in their history. The first challenge for this 2018 vintage was to tackle North Stars CC. Belhus travelled to the north of the island to find an excellent ground awaiting them together with fantastic hospitality from their generous hosts.

The heavy and humid heat was countered by a refreshing cool sea breeze as Belhus took the field. Connor Day hit the ground running with a wicket in the first over of the tour in what was a fine spell of accurate, hostile and above all quick bowling taking 2-26. John Wilson took a liking to the conditions as he weaved a fine web with his teasing slow bowling to capture 4-46. Ryan Wells also grabbed a couple of wickets. On the downside we shelled nine catches which was to prove costly.
Auguste top scored for the Stars with 83.

In reply Belhus started well as Wells made 30, Zak Wilson 24 and John Lewis 40 but whilst others made good starts a rain break proved crucial as the outfield slowed and we fell behind the rate and lost momentum. Campbell (4-39) and Broomes (3-44) put the brakes on Belhus and we slid to a 31 run defeat. A frustrating feeling of a missed opportunity to start the tour with a win hung over the squad as we retired to the bar to mull over what might have been.
