Belhus Cricket Club Lost by 3 Wickets

Match report Belhus lost a close game by 3 wickets on a gloomy damp afternoon at Hutton. Belhus batted first and after the early loss of Rob Healy and Teddy Waters were reliant on the Blake brothers in posting a total. Lewis (43) and Alex (39 n/o) initially added 73 before retiring at the 15 over mark. This sparked an ugly collapse as Belhus lost 5 wickets for 8 runs including four ducks. The brothers returned to the crease at the end of the allotted 25 overs to lift the Belhus score to 126 before Lewis was run out in the last over. Abbott, Gill and Parry all took 2 wickets each for Hutton.

In reply, Hutton struggled initially as Billy Kilduff and Ethan Barnett took wickets. Tyler Robertson (2-9) took two wickets in two balls to have Hutton lurching at 26-4. Belhus pouched four fine catches as Reece Herbert, Billy Kilduff, and the Blake brothers all holding on well despite the wet conditions. But the game turned as Stevens (31) and Parry (34) combined to move the score along swiftly. Two run outs by Lewis Blake and Billy Baker gave Belhus some hope and the game went to the last over with Hutton needing 6 to win. Dale (15 not out) kept a cool head to win the game for the home side with a boundary off the 5th delivery.

A good close game to end the season for Belhus against a very decent Hutton team.
