Match report Belhus were taught a cricketing lesson in their first 8 a side league clash by an excellent Wickford outfit. The visitors batted first and racked up 147-2 with McKenna making a fine 51 before retiring and Bate making 47. Alex Blake and Kaelan Casey picked up the Belhus wickets.

In reply, Belhus were reeling at an embarrassing 5 for 5 as they lost five wickets for no runs with ducks for Waters, Anderson, Barnett and Plunkett. Thankfully, Alex Blake (21 not out), Kaelan Casey (14) and Billy Baker (14) dug in and at least Belhus batted their 20 overs but the excellent Sayers (3 for 9) and McKenna (3 for just 1 run) from their allotted four overs made sure Belhus were a distant second.
