Match report Belhus lost this cup semi final by 17 runs. It was always going to be a tough ask against a strong Wickford outfit but there was a feeling of what might have been.

Belhus bowled first but could not make any early in roads despite tidy bowling from Billy Baker and Tom Anderson. Bate (27), Merritt (28) and Sayers (25) all batted well and were able to retire. This allowed Belhus to apply some the handbrake to the scoring rate as Alex Blake (3 for 9) and Kaelan Casey (1 for 14) made some in roads. Anderson made a run out from the last ball of the innings as Wickford posted a strong total of 137 from their 24 overs.

Belhus would need to bat well to have a chance of cup glory. They started steadily as Lewis Blake made 16 and Teddy Waters retired with 25. But with the scoring rate climbing it was proving a stiff task. Alex Blake made 25 before retiring and Ethan Barnett (11) Tom Anderson (11 n/o) and Oliver Plunkett (8) all tried hard but Belhus fell short of their target. T Crocker and R.Faulkner took a wicket each for Wickford. A study of the scorecards showed that both teams scored the same runs off the bat (97 each) the difference was in the extras column, Belhus conceding 40 as opposed to Wickford's 23. Better luck next year boys.
