Match report Belhus U13 just missed out in an exciting match at Orsett. Chasing a decent total of 107 from the home side Belhus fell agonisingly short by only four runs.

It was a fine match with lots of fine young talent on display. Bowling first Belhus bowlers Tom Holland, Alex Blake and Teddy Waters all took two wickets each while Charlie Ovey picked up one victim. Skipper Waters also took a fine catch. The Orsett runs were spread around with Finlay Goodhind making 18, Isaac Long 11 with Shaun Chrome and Freddie Arrowsmith both making 10 apiece.

Belhus replied and had to thwart some fine seam bowling from Ryan Humphrey and Casey Rixson early on. Teddy Waters battled well making 14 including two fours and there was good partnership of 48 between Alex Blake (24) and Kaelan Casey (20) both hitting three fours each. Belhus needed 14 to win from the last over and despite a good effort from Lewis Blake and Ethan Barnett who both made 6 not out the Belhus team just fell short.

It was a good game nonetheless and a good learning experience for our team against a very decent Trojans side.
