Belhus Cricket Club Saturday 2nd XI v Leigh-on-Sea on Sat 26 Aug 2017 at 12.30pm
Belhus Cricket Club Won by 5 Wickets
Match report
On a hot, beautiful summer's day, Belhus fielded first on a good track.
Leigh got off to a good start with Curtis (78) and Sexton(70 not out) pushing Leigh up to 248 in 48 overs. Imran again bowled tidily on the good surface, but the highlight for Belhus was the debut of Jamie Fairweather. Just 14 years of age he's a proper bowler. With a dynamic, over-the-top action, he bowled at a good pace and attacked the stumps. A very impressive debut for the 2nd team.
In reply, after 2 early wickets fell for, 22 Belhus recovered through Adam Dudmish on debut(a very good 40) and 92 from Zak Wilson who struck the ball with great timing and power. Further innings of 45 from the skipper Lewis, 38 off just 16 balls from Imran and a cameo 16 from Keith Dhannie took Belhus to victory by 5 wickets. An excellent win.
