Belhus played Harold Wood in the last game of the 2017 season and it proved to be a thriller.

Batting first, Harold Wood scored 185 for 8 in their 35 overs, after being in big trouble as the seam attack of Fairweather and Goulden took the first 5 wickets quickly. Then Squires picked up two wickets and Harold Wood were deep in trouble at 70 for 7, but good batting from Quested 50 not out and Mortimer 52 saw them out of danger.

In reply, Belhus got off to flying start thanks to Zak Wilson's quickfire 37 and Josh Clarke's 31. But it was the fine innings of 48 from Michael Cansdale that nearly won us the game. When he fell with the score on 182, we required 4 to win and it proved too much for Goulden and Squires as we fell 2 runs short of victory in what was a really good game and a great way to end the season.
