Belhus Cricket Club Won by 21 Runs

Match report Belhus made hard work of this 21 run win. Bowling first, our standards in the field and with the ball were not great compared to earlier matches. Accuracy with the ball was in short supply as 33 runs were gifted in wides and no balls and 13 boundaries were conceded. But there were some bright spots Reece Herbert took 3-18 clean bowling all his victims and he also picked up a run out too. Lewis and Alex Blake took a wicket each as did Henry Overy who bowled a very tidy spell of 1-4. Oliver Plunkett grabbed a good catch but Orsett posted 301 runs netted back to 271. Max Cook top scored for the Scorchers with 14.

Thankfully Belhus performed better with the bat, Alex Blake top scored with 22 and Reece Herbert made 16 with 5 boundaries and 3 boundaries respectively. Robert Healy and Oliver Plunkett both made 8 with a boundary each and Henry Overy and Tyler Robertson both made 6 hitting one four apiece. Sam Wakefield, Tommy Fleming and Max Cook all took a wicket each for the visitors. Belhus totaled 312-4 which netted back to 292.

It was far from Belhus's best performance this season but a win is a win. Belhus will need to improve if we are to win our next match at Wickford on Sunday.
