Match report This was an exceptional game of cricket for the U11 age group. Belhus may have lost their first league match of the season but there was no shame in that as they played very well against a fine Orsett and Thurrock Titans side.
Belhus lost the toss and were invited to bat. Alex Blake top scored with 14, brother Lewis made 10 and Oliver Plunkett 9 as Belhus made 279-5 netted back to 254. Orsett bowled exceptionally well conceding just 7 wides and 1 no ball. Greene took 1-5, Ryan 1-9 and Long 1-9 also.

In reply Belhus made early in roads as Kaelan Casey bowled superbly taking three wickets in his first two overs (3-12). Lewis Blake took 1-5 and Sammy Fairweather 1-7. Oliver Plunkett made a smart run out and with four overs left Orsett needed 25 for victory and the game was in the balance. Step forward Titan's Callum Greene who grabbed the game for Orsett hitting mightily to make 24 not out, including 1 six and 3 fours. Orsett won by ten runs but Belhus can hold their heads up high as they too bowled very straight conceding only 6 wides and 1 no ball. The only possible factor Belhus may look back on is three (albeit) very tough dropped catches - on another day who knows these chances could have made the difference but it was not to be. Suffice to say this was a fine game played by two good young teams. Congratulations to Orsett & Thurrock Titans. Belhus will hope they can win their two remaining matches and qualify for the SEDCB League Semi Final play offs.
