Belhus Cricket Club Won by 88 Runs

Match report Belhus produced another fine win on a cold, cloudy evening at North Stifford. Skipper Ted Waters won the toss and elected to bowl. Horndon's Dixie started well making 10 but the Belhus attack were in a tidy mood. Sammy Fairweather (2-4) led the way and there were wickets for Reece Herbert (1-5), Kaelan Casey (1-3) and Owen Williams (1-2). Keeper Lewis Blake held two catches and Serena Hand weighed in with a run out. There were tidy spells too from Tyler Robertson (3 overs for 4) and Waters with 2 overs for just 2 runs as Horndon were restricted to 253 for 6 netted down to a total of 223.

In reply Waters top scored with 16 (including 3 boundaries) with good support from Casey with 8 and Alex Blake, Ollie Plunkett and Owen Williams who all made 6. All the Belhus batsman were unbeaten and all made a contribution with the bat as they totalled 311 for no loss taking them to a win by 88 runs.

Credit to a very young Horndon team who bowled very straight and kept going on a very cold evening. Belhus look forward to their next match versus Benfleet next Friday.
