FORD SPORTS* v Belhus Cricket Club Saturday 1st XI on Sat 12 Jul 1997 at 1.30pm
Belhus Cricket Club Lost By 27 Runs
Match report
Belhus lost to Ford Sports in cracking high-scoring League game at Newbury Park.
Batting first, Fords racked up a very impressive 264 for 9 in their 45 overs, with B.Ramraj scoring a fine 101, backed up by D.Defreitas (43) and the ever reliable Orville Senhouse (50). Paul Stone picked up 5 for 72 and Mark Winter 3 for 38.
In reply, Terry Lambert tried single-handedly to win the game carrying his bat for a majestic 153 not out, his highest score and a wonderful effort, including 10 fours and 2 sixes. He put on 101 for the 1st wicket with Richard Waters (36). But apart from Waters, there was no other real support from the batsmen and we finally fell only 27 runs short of the Fords big total of 237 for 6.
Orville Senhouse rounded off a good day by taking 3 wickets in 4 balls in the 44th over, to finish with 3 for 42 and S.Patel was the other wicket-taker with 3 for 41.
