Match report On a hot summer's day, Belhus won the toss and batted. After an early wicket, Belhus, especially in the form of Baker (41), made quick progress to 67 but then lost quick wickets and were struggling at 108 for 4. However, Sansom(68) joined Marns (61)and turned the game around with a superbly crafted partnership of 114 runs. Their wristy, stylish ball-striking and ability to put the bad ball away was striking. George Maidment then showcased his all-round talents with a rapid 37 to take Belhus up to 302 for 7 off their alloted 45 overs.

In reply, Gidea Park made a good attempt to get to the big total mainly in the form of Elliot Joyner who made an excellent century. Mat Williams with his priceless ability to take wickets (4 for 55), and an excellent spell from Billy Maidment of full length left-arm seam bowling with 1 for 38, kept the home team in check and Belhus won with some ease, even if the skipper came on for the final over and got hit for 20 !

An excellent win for Belhus on a very hot day.
