Match report Our 1st XI batted first in this SNEL match at the Polo ground. After losing an early wicket, skipper Danny Joyce (81) and Liam Wilson (83) combined together to forge a masterly 165-runs 2nd wicket partnership and with lower-order support from Martin Guilbert (42*), we were able to post a respectable 263 from our allotted 50 overs. Carl Mumba was the pick of the Hutton bowlers with 4 for 38.

In their run-chase after tea, the Hutton batsmen made good use of a flat pitch with James Mowll stroking a fine half-century as Hutton marched comfortably to 175 for 2. However, the Belhus bowlers suddenly awoke from their slumber by capturing 3 wickets for 7 runs to take Hutton to 182 for 5 - and the match very much in the balance. But our bowlers stuck to their task and produced an extremely competent all-round team performance (9 wickets fell to catches including 4 to 'keeper Danny Joyce) to win a close encounter by 24 runs.

And the 1st XI remain at the top of the SNEL Division 2 table.
