Match report In this opening Shepherd Neame Essex League match of the season at Chalkwell Park, our 1st XI batted first and racked up a respectable 259 for the loss of 5 wickets. The consistent Joe Joyce recorded a fine century (despite having been dropped on 99) and was ably supported by skipper Danny Joyce (37) and Michael Fogg (29*).

In their run-chase after tea, Leigh-on-Sea never quite got into gear as paceman Connor Day bowled superbly to capture 6 for 40 and steer us home to an impressive 167-runs win.
