Match report Belhus Sunday 2nd Xl played Great & Little Warley at North Stifford in this 40 over Sunday friendly.

Belhus won the toss and elected to bat.

Our Australian Overseas player Liam Wilson was playing - as he wanted and needed some time at the crease since arriving - he opened the batting with Mat Williams and that is exactly what he got. The pair put on 133 for the first wicket, before Mat fell for a fine 56 with 5 fours.

Liam was then supported by Zak Wilson (23) and Russ Blackburn (24) on his way to a what looked like was going to be his maiden hundred, until a mix up with Russ saw Liam stop-and-starting in the middle and the dream was over, run out for a lovely innings of 95 which included 11 fours and 1 six, as he joined 'The 90s Club'. Hopefully that first hundred won't elude him for much longer and the Belhus innings closed on a very competitive 221 for 5 in 40 overs.

In reply, Great & Little Warley batted well but fell 27 runs short as they reached 194 for 9 in their allotted 40 overs with Ali 37, Waqas 27, Jacob 18 and Adeel 43 the main run scorers. But were kept at bay by our young bowling attack, Jamie Fairweather picking up 2 wickets, Bradley Bunce 1 and Billy Maidment 3, aS well as 1 wicket apiece for Bradyon Scarlett and John and Zak Wilson.

Aussie Liam Wilson rounded off a very good day by taking 4 catches.
