Belhus Cricket Club Won By 2 Wickets

Match report Belhus made it four successive wins in a tense, close fought affair with local rivals Goresbrook. Goresbrook were indebted to opener Williamson who made a hard fought 66 on a seaming track at North Stifford. The Wren brothers worked well in tandem for Belhus with Mason taking 3 wickets and Clarke two as Goresbrook posted 174-8 in their 45 overs.

In reply Belhus lost Tom Thompson early for a duck but Mason Wren (62) and Scott Bayford (53) put Belhus in control as they reached 91-2. But Wilkinson (5-39) set pulses racing as Belhus slumped to 155-7. With Belhus nerves jangling, young Clarke Wren hit a quick fire 15 to get Belhus to the brink of victory before Robertson hit the winning run to take the home side to a narrow 2 wicket win.
