Match report Belhus drew this very close all-day game with Clacton at Vista Road on Bank Holiday Monday.

Batting first, Clacton declared on 199 for 8 in 49 overs, John Stuck 35, Gary Kirk 85 and Andy Poole 37 not out, hitting the runs. Marc Lewis taking 3 for 34 and Roy Heffernan 2 for 9 were the pick of the bowlers.

In reply, Belhus were 194 for 9 in 50 overs, falling just short of the target. Terry Lambert proved the main man with 63, but plenty of others helped out and run Clacton so close, Jim Banner 23, Roy Heffernan 29, Cliff Cansdale 19 and Steve Simmons 16 not out.

A good day out was had by all.
