Match report In our first fixture with St Vincent at the notoriously inconsistent pitch at Brittons Playing Fields, Rainham Road, South Hornchurch, our hosts posted a modest total of 135 as spinner Cliff Cansdale bowled superbly to take 6 for 46.

After tea, we struggled to play shots on a pitch with increasing variable bounce, often rising dangerously sharply. Very shortly after Mathew Lewis retired hurt, it was decided that it was too dangerous to continue play and the match was abandoned. We never again played St Vincent.
