Basildon v Belhus Cricket Club Saturday 3rd XI on Sat 06 Jul 1985 at 2.30pm
Belhus Cricket Club Lost by 119 Runs
Match report
Basildon batted first and their No.9 batsman, Tarry, smashed 56 not out to take his side up to a respectable total of 178 for 9 declared. Our Eddie Ryan conceded 102 runs (just the sixth Belhus bowler to concede more than 100 runs in an innings - as at 2014) in his marathon spell of 22 overs, but took 6 wickets for his effort.
After tea, four of our batsmen were dismissed for 'ducks' as P. Harris Jnr returned fantastic figures of 8 for 16 and we we well beaten - by 119 runs. Well bowled Sir - and well played Basildon.
