Belhus Cricket Club Saturday 3rd XI v RAINHAM* on Sat 04 Aug 1984 at 2.30pm
Match was Drawn
Match report
This match at Belhus Park saw the club record individual score broken by Wayne Read as he smashed an astonishing 181 not out (including 16 fours and 9 sixes, including 5 sixes in one over). The only other batsman to reach double figures in our innings of 240 for 6 was Dick Forrest with 20.
Our total was clearly beyond the reach of Rainham who batted out for a draw as our bowlers struggled to a make a breakthrough.
This club record score lasted for 30 years - until it was broken by Paul Bennett who struck 200 not out against Havering-atte-Bower on 19th May 2013.
