Clacton-on-Sea v Belhus Cricket Club Sunday 1st XI on Sun 03 Jun 1984 at 11.30am
Match was Drawn
Match report
In this all-day match at Clacton, we batted for 61.3 overs in posting 193 all out. Clacton's opening bowler, Harvey, sent down 20.2 overs returning magnificent figures of 8 for 43. And each one of his victims were clean-bowled - testament to his accuracy, but raising questions over the defensive techniques of the Belhus batsmen! Well bowled Sir.
In their run-chase, Clacton never really got in the hunt. John Forrest bowled well to take 5 for 24, but we couldn't quite winkle out the tail-end batsmen and the match finished in a draw.
