In the first match of the 1983 Devon tour, we found ourselves poised precariously on 61 for 8. But thanks to John Forrest (37*) and Andy Armit (23) we were able to post 126 for 9 declared at tea.

In our reply after tea, although John Forrest produced a superb spell of 5 for 33, K. Braund stroked a fine 51 to see Victoria Park home to a 4-wickets win.
