WALMER* v Belhus Cricket Club Midweek XI on Wed 04 Aug 1982 at 2.30pm
Belhus Cricket Club Lost by 126 Runs
Match report
Walmer (on the Kent coast) batted first in this midweek match and were in serious trouble at 40 for 7. But then No. 9 batsman A. Milroy came to the crease and smashed a magnificent 93 to take his team to a very respectable 166 for 9. Trevor Pighini bowled a marathon spell of 24.1 overs to take 6 for 56.
After tea, apart from Cliff Cansdale who scored 20 not out (5 x fours), we batted woefully and were bowled out for just 38 as Grigg and P. Line took 6 and 4 wickets respectively. As with the previous day's match against Henfield, 5 Belhus players were dismissed for ducks! Poor show Belhus, but well played Walmer.
