Match report Batting first, Stanford-le-Hope posted a competitive total of 180 thanks primarily to opener Adrian Page who struck a fine 89. Spinner Amit Gohil took a career-best 6 for 59 and Braydon Scarlett continued his fine form this season with a return of 3 for 29.

In our run-chase, opener Jim Robertson top-scored with 24 but our other batsmen just failed to occupy the crease long enough and we fell short to lose by 26 runs. Geoff Gullet did most damage for S-l-H with a return of 6 for 54.

This match marked the first occasion when two Belhus players (Barry Ruck and Brett Page) were injured on the field of play and had to make their way to A & E for treatment. They, and we, were grateful to Adrian Page of Stanford for so promptly displaying his first aid skills.
