Match report The Belhus 4ths faced a tough test at The Redbridge Sports Ground on Saturday against a strong Hainault and Clayhall side. The home team batted first and were initially held in check by some good seam bowling with the new ball by Paul Whitlock who bowled accurately but with no luck. Billy Maidment did manage to make in roads having the aggressive Gulati well caught by young Jordan Sullivan and then taking a catch off his own bowling to remove Ali, ending up with figures of 2-26. This proved to be the only Belhus joy as Hanif Khan (107) and Humza Chaudry (100) took control and took advantage of an excellent batting surface as they took the total to 242-2. Hainault declared after just 35 overs.

Belhus responded with a determined opening partnership between Jim Robertson and Neil Sullivan. Robertson got off the mark with a six and was the more aggressive of the pair making 82. It was his first 50 of the season and a welcome return to form after a fairly miserable season with the bat. Robertson fell to veteran slow bowler Forbes closing out an opening partnership of 112. Sullivan's long vigil eventually ended for 32. Belhus totalled 140-2 from the 55 overs they received.
