Match report A hot day at North Stifford saw Westcliff-on-Sea bat first on a fine strip and post a competitive total of 254 from 52 overs. Sheraz Shahid was our lead wicket-taker with 3 for 89.

In reply, and after some excellent home-made sponge cakes and scones lovingly produced by Eve Lewis, her son, John Lewis Jnr, stroked 80 and, coming in at No. 10, Imran Mohammed smashed his club best score of 35 not out. Unfortunately, no other batsman was able to make any real contribution and the match fizzled out to a draw when it came to a close after we had batted for just 40 overs.
