Batting first, our 1st XI posted an easily-gettable total of 133. Only Danny Joyce (47) and Charlie Lewis (32) had any answer to the Billericay bowlers as Greg Hammond bowled accurately to concede just 7 runs from 8 overs and Paul Walter and John Walter took 4 wickets apiece.

After a delicious spread of cakes and sandwiches produced by Sue Joyce, our visitors soon found themselves in trouble in their run-chase. Only Paul Walter (30) made any impression with the bat and the Belhus bowlers skittled out Billericay for 100 precisely to lift us to 2nd place in SNEL 2nd Division.
