Up stepped Ben Garwood 37 Not Out and Jude Ranson 38 undefeated and a partnership of 75 to take the visitors total to a respectable 124.Especially considering 6 players failed to trouble the scorers.

The home sides innings mirrored that of the visitors with Thurroch struggling and well behind the asking rate at 56 for 5 of 12. This time Bilal Qureshi (25) and Alfie Feeney 38 Not out put on a partnership of 53. However, when Qureshi fell to a fine catch in the deep by Scarlett and Feeney was forced to retire (35 run rule) the Thurrock tail could keep up the rate and they fell 7 runs short of the target in a thrilling finale
