Match report Batting first, the visitors made slow but steady progress to a respectable score of 172 for 5 off 40 overs, the mainstay of the Writtle innings being opener Fenton who marshalled his young colleagues while scoring 75 himself. Cliff Cansadale (3 for 27) was the pick of our bowlers, with Under-13 Billy Turley impressing with 1 for 16 off 5 overs.

The Belhus response never really got going with most players getting a start but not going on to threaten the target. Don East top-scored with 23, while five other batsmen made double figures as our Sunday 2s finished 136 all out to lose by 36 runs.
