BRITANNIC LODGE* v Belhus Cricket Club Saturday 1st XI on Sat 26 Jul 1986 at 2pm
Belhus Cricket Club Won by 128 Runs
Match report
Batting first in this Lillywhite Frowd league match, we were in serious trouble with our score standing at 53 for 8. But then, at 3.12pm, Richard Waters strode to the crease and combined with David Cayless to produce a brilliant 68-runs 9th wicket partnership which David followed with a superb 10th wicket partnership of 47 with Robert Waters. Our innings closed at 4.35 after our tail-enders had racked up 118 runs in 83 minutes and we posted a total of 168. Fantastic.
And after tea, our batting heros bowled out Britannic Lodge for just 40 as David took 3 for 116 and Robert 4 for 24. Surely one of the greatest and most unlikely wins in the club's history.
