The match against Pickwick CC at Kensington Oval was, of course, the highlight of the tour. Sadly, apart from Mat Lewis Snr who captured 4 for 40, our bowlers weren't at their best on this warm but overcast day. Pickwick racked up 266 for 6 with No. 7 batsman Wallace being particularly severe on our attack by stroking 65 in 8 overs. In this 35-overs match, Pickwick declared after 33 overs.

With the West Indies Test bowler Vaspert Drakes in the Pickwick line-up, we were always going to struggle to chase down the runs. Wayne Read (44), Mark Winter (37) and David Cayless (29) made a good effort, but we folded to 149 all out to lose by 117 runs. Still, a memorable day.
