Ilford scored what is believed to be the highest score by any opposition team in a Belhus match - at any level. Ilford's number three batsman, Arfan Shah, struck a magnificent undefeated 273, which included 32 fours and three sixes!
Arfan still remembers the innings to this very day - indeed he would. However, Arfan conceded that he nicked the ball for a wicketkeeper with the very first ball he received; the ball was taken cleanly but no member of the Belhus team appealed. Arfan stood his ground - and the rest was history.
