Mark Winter became the club's first ever player to score a century in a youth/colts match as he helped demolish an inexperienced Canvey Island team on the first eleven ground at Belhus Park. This match was the second of five which formed the first ever Belhus colts' festival, with concurrent matches from Monday through to Friday.

Although Winter was dropped about five times, maybe more, he came in with the score at 25 for two wickets. Wickets fell regularly at the other end, but Winter enjoyed his good fortune. He came to the crease at 2.56pm and his innings eventually concluded at 4.39pm. In that time, he faced 106 deliveries and hit twelve fours and two sixes.
