St Peters v Belhus Cricket Club Youth Tour on Tue 16 Aug 1977 at 2.30pm
Belhus Cricket Club Lost by 7 Wickets

Match report Belhus Colts 67 all out
St Peters Colts 70-3

This match was played at Waterhall Valley, Patcham. The gusts whistled through the valley of the South Downs and there was a significant wind chill factor. It was probably one of the coldest afternoons experienced at any Belhus youth tour venue, most likely not much more than about twelve degrees centigrade.

On arrival at the valley, we were greeted with the sign "Beware Adders". It probably should have read "Beware good cricketers" as we were roundly defeated by seven wickets by a much superior team.

It is unlikely that the cricket ground still exists at Waterhall Valley. Since this fixture was played the valley has been sliced by the building of the A27 Brighton by-pass.
